Liquid light

I have decided to use liquid light as one of my processes into portraiture and seeing if I can master the process as it is a very tricky process and takes time as in  this process you have to buy the right paper watercolour paper around  300gsm. the liquid light emulsion is put into hot water in and then apply onto the paper thinly and be careful not to get any runs, then let the emulsion to dry this will take over night so make sure that it is in a light tight room, I haven't given out all the details later on I will put an up date on how I processed my work this semester. here is some people who practice this method on different textiles.
I found this website which I find really interesting in how this method is used
Pamela Petro
she uses the liquid light process but instead  of paper she uses pebbles and places them back in the beach its such a qwerty idea and fun at the same time.

Pam kleeman
uses the liquid light process on vinyl one thing that I would have never thought of using as I wouldn't have thought it would take properly, but apparently it works really well here is the link ----> http://www.rockaloid.com/gallery2.html

I would carry on looking through this website at it has so many fun ideas that I would have never thought of.

here is some of the images I did from last term using this method they I think they turned out well since it is so tricky the first one will be a test strip and the other two images are the finals that I handed in.

Image one this is my test strip the timer goes down every 10 seconds.

image one the final image I put this under for 27 seconds as I thought it needed to be in-between 25 and 30sec.

test print image 2
same again I tested this in ten second

image 2 final print this was taken 30 seconds
as you can see this process gives out some beautiful image's delicate and also having brush strokes I think make the image pop you don't have to have the brush strokes its personal preference.

photoshop image

This one of my images that I edited in photoshop I'm really pleased by the way it has turned out as my photoshop skills are not so brilliant, the reason I chose this image was because I liked the soft look of the model and the hardness of the wall of the castle, this photoshoot was for one of my projects at uni but wasn't used because it didn't go with the project, but it was not one I wasn't not going to use as it is one of my favourite aspects portraiture.

James Nader
his work is beautiful and intense fashion and beauty everything that I love about photography capturing a perfect moment, when I first looked at his work I was amazed by how many different ways I could capture the model I would use and it also shows that I can also add in fashion by using make up hats jewellery etc. and still only make it a head shot and didn't only have to be just beauty shots even though truthful raw beauty shots are my favourite just shows the person to who they are, just them on there own and how beautiful anybody can be.
this is the short of work I would love to aspire to and to try my hardest to get to that and also using my own ideas and using his work for inspiration =D

Intro

I'm starting this blog for uni, in my blog I'm going to talk about what my intention, ideas, research that I find interesting and also adding in my own work and development.
So the aspect part of photography I want to go into is portraiture fashion and beauty shots.  I'm going to be looking at different photographers my own work and also putting any little ideas onto this blog. I am really interested in doing most of my work on film but also using digital just to be able to show that I can go from one to another that way I have more ways to show my work. One of my ideas is to first start off working in one of the studios and getting a few beauty shots in both film and in digital so I have the range of work and if anything does go wrong with the film I have back up with the digital shoot as well, that also means I have both classic black and white and colour. I want to try medium format to see the differences between 35mm and medium, and also working in this format I will be able to use the different technique's that I learnt last year with Andy Sanderson e.g. liquid light, cyanotype and the different range of papers we where shown. here is my list of 10 things that i am going to do during this assignment

1.research different photographers in the aspect of photography that I want to do
2. using different ways to improve my ability by using both film and digital
3. looking at adding more into my portraiture e.g. adding advertisement for jewellery
4. make up advertisement
5.looking at my old work to see how much I have progressed
6. finding out other ways to make my work into fashion as well as portraiture
7. start showing my work to others getting my work on the internet and making a name for myself
8. learn more things about the studio learning how to use the space that is available
9. learning how to use the lighting properly
10. and trying to get my confidence up to get my photography skills to the way I want them
